MISP Implementation in Chirang

Doctors For You has been involved in providing medical relief to the camp inmates of four districts of Assam- Chirang, Dhubri, Kokrajhar and Bongaigaon. DFY team was there on the site during the violence. The team did a rapid assessment by sending one doctor and one disaster manager. Team’s doctors who were already present in the affected districts were providing medical care since the onset of the violence.

A six member team of DFY has established an emergency control room in Chirang from where Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) shall be implemented in the four affected districts. MISP was first launched by Prof T Jayraman and Dr. Ravikant in Chirang district. Team members have been deputed in all the four districts. The MISP kit will take care of pregnant ladies and provide for safe delivery of new born. DFY target is to cover all 222 relief camps with MISP as soon as possible. The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and the  Tata Trust is supporting DFY inthis project.
