According to a joint report released by UN food agencies this month , India saw a 6.5% DROP in the number of people who suffer from chronic hunger. During the 2008-2010 period as many as 22.86 crore people were undernourished in this country , and today this number has fallen to 21.38 crore. These statistics only prove that we are on the right path and that all hard work eventually bears fruit. DFY is committed to achieving the UN Millennium Development Goal of “eradicating extreme poverty and hunger” as we believe good nutrition lays the foundation for good health. Much work however remains to be done if we are to achieve this goal by 2015 , and we thank all our volunteers and donors for having supported thus far. We urge you to contribute in any way you can.
